Fixtures:
The Open Singles continues on Thursdays. Visitors: €20 per person. Members: €5 per person.
Gowran Park will be a host venue for The Jimmy Bruen Shield (qualifier) on Sunday 6th June and not the Monday as appears in the diary.
The Charity Fundraiser will be held on the holiday Monday 7th and not on the Sunday as appears in the diary.
So basically both events are swapping around.
The Jimmy Bruen will see 17 clubs from all over the south-east come to Gowran Park where only 1 club will advance to the Leinster Play-off stages (last 8).
The Charity Fundraiser is in support of 3 very fine charities – Home Care, 3T’s & Rumble for Crumlin. The format on the day will be a 3-person rumble (3 people playing together as a team, 1 score counts on the first 6 holes, 2 scores to count on holes 7-12 and all 3 scores count on holes 13-18). Please try to support.
Inter-Club Golf:
Congratulations to the Duggan Cup team who beat Kilkenny during the week.
Also, well done to the Barton Cup team who also beat Kilkenny this week.
Ger Treacy & Larry Cleere won 5&4 at home.
Maurice Mason & Dermot Fennelly lost on the 16th away.
Shane O’Brien & Dave Kearney won on the 13th at home.
Kevin Fennelly & Eoin Jordan lost on the 17th away.
Rioch Walsh & Nicky Cleere won on the 16th at home to seal the victory.
Gowran Park will now face Waterford in the next round.
Midweek 9-Hole:
The 9 hole competition continues throughout the summer. It’s a great social evening and a chance to get some practice in before the more serious competition on the weekend!
Just show up on the Wednesday evening (around 5pm) and you’ll always get someone to join up with.

Club Matchplay Competitions:
The Draw has been made for the Club Fourball Matchplay and it’s now posted at the club and also on the club blog.
Due to the number of entries, there are 4 matches to be played in a preliminary round. This preliminary round is to take place on or before June 2nd so not much time to get going if you are involved in one of the matches concerned…
The first round proper is to be played by June 23rd.
The 2nd round of the Club Singles Matchplay is to be played by June 9th. You can track the progress of these competition through the Club Blog where the draw and results are published and kept up to date – go to the members area in the golf section of the gowranpark.ie website.
Online Booking:
The Online Booking facility is now active for members.
Select the ‘Members Area’ under the ‘Golf’ section of the gowranpark.ie website and follow the instructions to register using your 8 digit GUI number which can be found on the back of your swipe card.
New Swipecard:
A New GUI/Golfnet Card has now been received for each male member of Gowran Park Golf Club. These Cards are held in the shop at the Golf Club and are available for collection.
