There will be an Open Singles Competition on Saturday next 16th November with a special entry fee of only €10.00 for visitors (€5 for members). Prizes will be turkey’s and hams – a great chance to get ready for the festive season ahead! Timesheet is now open online or telephone 056 7726699.
Open Fourball – Sunday 10th November
Our final Open Fourball of the year took place on Sunday last after a short delay due to frost. Blessington Lake members Gavin Morris (18) and Michael Anglim (14) too first spot on the day with 47 points. Serious scrutiny took place to define 2nd and 3rd place between Gowran Park pairings James Comerford and Larry Cleere and Paddy McGuinness and Mick Dillon after being level on the back 9, 6 , 3 and back 1. They were eventually divided by a countback on the last 6 holes of the front 9 with James Comerford’s eagle on the 8th hole being the determining factor – well done James and Larry.
Autumn Qualifier – 7th/8th November 2013
Competition was strong in last weeks’ Autumn Qualifying series. Thomastown native John Skehan (18) took the leading qualifying spot on a countback from Michael Fitzpatrick (13) – both players scored 37 points with Gerry Minogue (15) taking the remaining qualifying spot 2 points further back. The series continues this Thursday and Friday with a timesheet in place with the final to take place on 13th December.

Seniors Open Singles – Tuesday 5th November 2013
Callan members were to the fore in our last Open Seniors for the season on Tuesday last 5th November. S. Fitzpatrick (17) took the leading spot on 39 points with playing partner Tommy Owen taking the runner up spot on 31 points.
Golden Golfers – Scramble – Friday 8th November 2013
Our weekly golden golfers competition goes from strength to strength, with a great atmosphere ensuing on Friday mornings in Gowran Park!
Friday 8th saw an 11 hole Scramble with Liam O’Dwyer’s team coming out victorious with 58 points just pipping Kieran Mahon’s team into second place with 57 points. Competition continues every Friday for members with a draw for partners at 10.00 a.m. This open draw is an opportunity for members to get to mingle outside of their usual pairings and especially for new members to become involved.
