Captains’ Melvyn Kennedy, Margaret Logue & Kevin Maher along with President Eamon Kealy and members of Gowran Park Golf Club

Men’s Results:   Last Sunday’s competition was delayed due to frost, however when the course opened at 9.30 a.m. over 70 members enjoyed a beautiful afternoon of golf. 41 was the lucky number on the day with all prizewinners having the same score.   Popular club member Noel Kenny (11) came out victorious with Sean Kiely (10) taking the runner-up spot and Luke Kelly finishing 3rd.  The cards were well scrutinised to determine the positions on the countback.

Reminder:  Members diaries are now available for collection from the Golf Office.

Spring League:   A great entry for the Spring League was recorded last week over the two days.  The competition was extremely hot and resulted in local member Joe Lannon (14) taking the first qualifying spot with 45 points on a countback from new member Alan Donoghue (18).   Visitor J. Gleeson (11) Rathdowney Golf Club took the remaining qualifying place with a good score of 42 points.  The competition continues this Thursday and Friday ahead of the final to take place on 22nd March 2013.
