Members 18 hole Singles :
Last weekend saw a member’s 18 hole singles take place and with favourable weather conditions scoring was quite hot. Local man Michael Doyle took the leading spot with a superb score of 44 points with Terry Cassin taking the runners spot on 43 points. Pat Roche took third place one point further back. Next weekend sees a member’s monthly medal 18 hole singles take place – time sheet available online.
Club Matchplay :
The finals of the Club Fourball and the Club Singles took place over last weekend. Dareen Carroll defeated JJ Ryan in the final of the singles competition. Father and son pairing of Kieran Mahon Jnr and Snr defeated Paddy McGuiness and Mick Dillon in the final of the Fourball event. After a ding dong battle the match was finally decided on the 19th green.
Autumn Series on the Way – Golf & Breakfast Roll or Soup & Sandwich – Thursday 10th October will see the launch of our very popular Autumn League 2013 – this Singles competition can be played every Thursday and/or Friday through October November and early December – 3 qualifiers and equals from each week will go forward to the grand final which will be held on Friday 13th December 2013. The entry fee for visitors will be €20.00 to include a choice of either a Breakfast Roll or Soup & Sandwich.
South Eastern Junior Allinace :
The South Eastern Junior Alliance starts off it’s winter outings next Weekend with Clonmel Golf Club welcoming its members. There are limited spaces available for Gowran Park members and anyone interested should contact the office for details. The Allinace plays a number of outings over the winter months visiting a number of golf courses including Kilkenny, Callan, Waterford, Carrick on Suir, West Waterford and Dungarvan.
CLUB PROMOTION WEEK AT GOWRAN PARK – REVISED DATE
Gowran Park are hosting a Club Promotion Week commencing on Wednesday 23rd through to Sunday 28th October 2013 incorporating membership offers, society golf and all other golf activity. The initiative will coincide with a Four Person Team Event which will take place each day with a fabulous first prize of an outing and meal for a society of up to 25 people, 2nd prize will be a free golf outing for group of 15 and 3rd prize for a group of 10. In addition all participants will enter a draw for one FREE MEMBERSHIP of Gowran Park Golf Club for 2014.
Entry fee for these competitions will be €60.00 per team weekdays and €80.00 per team on Saturday and Sunday. This is an opportunity for prospective members and customers to come and experience one of the best courses in the South East and enjoy our superb facilities.
