Captains Drive-In
The 2013 Captain’s Drive-In will take place on Sunday next 24th February. Members are asked to register between 11.00 and 11.30 a.m. on Sunday morning ahead of the main event with tee off at 12.00 noon. Captains Melvyn Kennedy and Margaret Logue along with junior captain Kevin Maher are set to take the first tee by storm and officially drive-in to office for the year ahead. The presentation of prizes will take place after the golf and finger food and refreshments will be provided
Open Fourball
Last Sunday saw a tremendous turnout for the first Open Fourball of the season with a full timesheet from early morning. Beautiful spring conditions prevailed and resulted in some good scores with the winning slot going to local members Willie Blanchfied and Ian Morrissey with an impressive 45 points. John Barcoe and James Doyle took 2nd place 1 point behind on 44 points with a 3 way battle for 3rd place eventually being taken by Colm Corcoran and Larry Comerford on a countback with 43 points. Our next Open Fourball will take place on Sunday 10th March 2013.
Spring Series
Following a recent run of bad weather another round of our Spring Series took place last Thursday and Friday. Mountain View member Willie Grace (5) returned a score of 39 points which was enough to secure the leading qualifier spot ahead of Mick Bolger (16) also scoring 39 points but losing out on a countback. Patrick O’Keeffe (14) Callan took the remaining qualifying spot with 38 points. The last remaining qualifying rounds will take place over the next four weeks ahead of the final to take place on Friday 22nd March. Timesheet are now open – ( 056 7726699.
